Location. The Newport Hideaway is located in downtown Newport, R.I., less than one-half mile from Bowens Wharf, offering waterfront restaurants, retail stores and art galleries. Newport’s mansions, including The Breakers, Hunter House, Beechwood Mansion and Rough Point, are between one and three miles away.
Features. This 1890 Victorian-style inn is fronted with a patio with a table, chairs and two chaise lounges, all overlooking the property’s white garden. Full, complimentary breakfasts, afternoon teas and refreshments are served in the private garden or in the dining room, which showcases folk art. The inn’s living room provides games, newspapers and periodicals. Pets are not allowed at this property.
Guestrooms. The single suite at the Newport Hideaway features an adjoining bathroom with a rainforest shower. The suite’s princess balcony overlooks the garden. The bed includes a pillowtop mattress, 100-percent cotton linens, a lightweight duvet and a comforter at the foot of the bed.
