Overview
The Inn at Baldwin Creek is nestled at the foot of the Green Mountains in Bristol, Vt., midway between Burlington and Middlebury. Downtown Bristol, one-half mile from the property, offers restaurants, antique shops, and a farmer’s market. The town green serves as a popular venue for concerts.
This historic 1797 Vermont farmhouse is positioned on 25 picturesque acres encompassing manicured lawns, Vermont woodlands and the inn’s namesake, Baldwin Creek. Six red barns and perennial flower and herb gardens complement the grounds. Complimentary three-course breakfasts are provided daily, and continental breakfasts are available. Complimentary afternoon refreshments are provided, and late afternoon offerings include chocolate chip cookies, local Vermont cheese and crackers, blackberry scones or apple-cheddar cheese fondue accompanied by tea, coffee, cocoa or mulled Vermont apple cider. Mary’s at Baldwin Creek, the inn’s restaurant, is open Wednesday through Sunday and offers adventurous cuisine, a children’s menu and a bar. Cooking classes are held on Saturdays. A seasonal heated pool is located just beyond the orchard. There is a common room on the main floor with board games, books and current magazines. Pets are not allowed.
The Inn at Baldwin Creek offers five guestrooms, all featuring beds with down comforters and private bathrooms with bathrobes and complimentary toiletries. Some bathrooms include claw-foot tubs or jetted tubs. Two of the guestrooms are equipped with gas-fired wood stoves. Additional room amenities include coffeemakers, CD players and wireless Internet access. Select rooms offer televisions with VCRs and a selection of videos.
