Overview
Location. The Lincoln Inn at the Covered Bridge is situated two-and-one-half miles west of the Woodstock Village Green in a quiet area convenient to downtown Woodstock, Vt. Woodstock is home to an array of antique shops, country stores, museums and galleries. Approximately five miles from this bed and breakfast is the Vermont Institute of Natural Science. Only 15 minutes to the west is Killington, Vt., offering world-class skiing and golf.
Features. The Lincoln Inn at the Covered Bridge is a lovingly restored country farmhouse situated on six acres of land. Beautiful rolling hills, which slope softly down to the edge of the Ottauquechee River, complement the expansive property. A short stroll along the riverbank brings guests to the inn’s namesake, the Lincoln Covered Bridge. A swing, gazebo, Adirondack chairs and terrace overlook the river. The inn features Mango’s Terrace & Bar with two fireplaces, and a fully stocked library. Complimentary breakfasts are served in the River Room, which overlooks the river. Candlelit dinners are offered in the inn’s restaurant for a fee.
Guestrooms. The charming and old fashioned guestrooms at the Lincoln Inn at the Covered Bridge all offer private bathrooms. While all of the guestrooms are individually decorated, many of them feature floral themes. Expert Tip. The Billings Farm and Museum, four miles away, is a working dairy farm and living museum. Mostly a self-guided attraction, guests can watch the afternoon milking of the herd, which begins at 3 p.m., and learn the process of milk production.
