Apple Hill Inn

The Apple Hill Inn is positioned high on a hill in the Green Mountains, three miles from the villages of Woodstock, Vt., and Quechee, Vt. The bed and breakfast overlooks the winding Ottaquechee River, which is crossed by the historic Taftsville Covered Bridge. Hiking, biking, running and snowshoeing are popular activities along the Happy Valley Road and Happy Valley Stream, accessible approximately one-half mile away.
This 1986 country inn occupies a remote and pastoral location, and is set on 13 acres. Complimentary buffet-style breakfasts, made from natural and organic ingredients, may include vegetable omelets, pear almond pancakes, berry bread puddings, homemade granola and fresh fruit compotes. Evening tea and other beverages are served in the tea room/solarium, which adjoins an open deck and is bedecked with glass walls.

The three guestrooms at the Apple Hill Inn are named after types of apples. All units include private bathrooms. Beds in the accommodations are made with 100-percent cotton linens, and are topped with down comforters and pillows. The Sunrise Room is bright yellow, and features large picture windows, l8th-century original antiques, Oriental rugs and a handcrafted maple four-poster bed. Rooms offer views of the inn’s perennial gardens or the surrounding hills.
