As President and CEO of Resideo, Mike Nefkens leads a $4.5 billion business that puts people in charge of their home comfort, safety, security, and energy efficiency, and is a top global distributor of security, fire and low-voltage products.
Created in 2018 through a spinoff of Honeywell’s Homes and Distribution segments, Resideo has operations in 40 countries and ~14,500 employees around the world. Nefkens also serves on the board of directors.
Previously, Nefkens served as executive vice president and general manager, Enterprise Services, Hewlett Packard Enterprise with direct responsibility for a $20B P&L and 110,000 employees globally. Recognized for the successful turnaround of the business, he increased customer satisfaction to the top of its industry while driving record operating profit improvement for 14 consecutive quarters.
Nefkens led the successful spinoff-merger of this business into DXC Technology in 2017, which resulted in $14 billion of shareholder value. Nefkens also served on the executive team that spun HP’s personal computer (PC)/printers and software businesses into standalone public companies.
A seasoned global executive, Nefkens previously drove the successful turnaround of multiple businesses in Europe, Latin America, and North America. In addition, Nefkens has 10 years of experience in the energy sector in Latin America, where he held a range of executive management positions, including regional president and general manager in Mexico, Nicaragua, Venezuela, and North America.
Nefkens is an authority on transformation and cybersecurity. He serves as an advisor to boards and fellow CEOs, and has spoken for four consecutive years at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. He earned his bachelor’s degree in finance from Texas Christian University and his MBA from Duke University. He also served as a member of the board of directors of Riverbed until its sale in early 2015.
