Thomas Surran

As President and Chief Executive Officer at Resideo, Thomas Surran leads a global manufacturer, developer, and distributor of technology-driven sensing and controls products and solutions for residential and commercial end-markets.

Building on a heritage that spans more than 145 years, Resideo’s solutions and services can be found in over 150 million residential and commercial spaces globally, with new device sales numbering in the tens of millions annually. The company serves more than 110,000 professionals through leading distributors.

Surran has an extensive background of operational excellence, product management, and bringing new products to market. Over his career, he has worked in various pro- and consumer-focused technology industries, including infrared and thermal imaging, sensing and measuring controls, data storage, and more.

He joined Resideo in 2023 as the President of the company's Products & Solutions segment. Prior to that role, Surran was Chief Operating Officer at FLIR, overseeing product management, engineering, product marketing, manufacturing, logistics, service, and sales. In this role, he drove profitability improvements through business process standardization, organizational realignment, and product development. 

Previously, he was General Manager for FLIR’s Raymarine business unit where he overhauled product development processes and revitalized the business through new platform-based products. He reduced the development time for new products from the prior multi-year timelines to less than one year.

Surran holds a Bachelor of Science from Xavier University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago.
