Amazon Prime Day 2019

It’s hard to believe it's already been five years since the very first “Prime Day.” It seems as if the holiday-like-deals-in-July have always been part of our lives.

Amazon’s 2018 Prime Day set a new sales record with consumers purchasing more than 100 million products – reportedly 398 items sold per second – breaking all Black Friday records. This year, the two-day event happens on July 15-16, and is anticipated to be the biggest Prime Day to date with more than 1 million deals globally. In some ways, this event has become bigger than November’s Black Friday deals. For example, a 2018 price comparison study showed that the majority of 2017 Prime Day deals were better than 2017 Black Friday deals (76% of the time). While the event is primarily for Prime members, non-members can get in on the deals with a trial membership.
